U.S. has intensified strikes on Taliban after its decision to partake in a settlement meeting in Moscow, Mr Delawar Aimaq, a member of the Afghan National Assembly security commission from the Baghlan province, told Sputnik.
He said the the large scale U.S. operations against the Taliban in the Northern Afghanistan has enabled the Islamic State terrorist group to mount an offensive in the area.
“IS militants have become very active in northern Afghanistan recently, rather than the Taliban, because the United States strikes the latter, but does not touch IS.
“The Taliban members are often offered to surrender to the Afghan government forces or persuaded to join IS,” provided they will assist the operations against the Taliban in northern Afghanistan, Aimaq claimed.
