Tyavkase ‘resurrects’ to lead Lobi Stars relegation fight

A back-to-back winner of the prestigious CAF Champions League with Enyimba FC, David Tyavkase, who went off the radar for some time, has reappeared to help his home club, Lobi Stars, in the fight against relegation.

The skilful midfielder was considered surplus to requirement by the immediate past management of Lobi Stars but following the recent change of guards which saw Dominic Iorfa assuming the role of vice-chairman of the club, he is back in the camp of the 1999 Nigerian league winners.

It is hoped that Tyavkase, a former Super Eagles midfielder and veteran of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) will bring his wealth of experience to bear on Lobi Stars who are presently in murky waters of relegation.

“The decision to bring back Tyavkase is a wise move. Lobi Stars need a player of his calibre to survive relegation. He may not be young again but his experience will be useful.

“If used the right way, I see him playing a pivotal role for Lobi Stars in the second stanza of the league. Like I said earlier, those who brought him back made the right decision,” said Terkuma Akoso, an avid supporter of the club.

Another Lobi Stars ‘outcast’ who has found favour with the present management is ace attacking midfielder, Emmanuel Ajia.

The former El-Kanemi Warriors player is also expected to contribute his experience in the fight against relegation.
