The Victims Support Fund (VSF) Task force on COVID-19 has made donations of four solar-powered boreholes, overhead tanks and other water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) facilities to some public secondary schools in Jigawa State.

Speaking while handing over the WASH facilities at Ringim Government Unity Secondary School (GUSS), Ringim, the Chairperson of the task force on COVID-19, Mrs. Toyosin Akerele-Ogunsiji, said “The donation follows the completion of the 1st and 2nd phases of the VSF COVID-19 emergency intervention, the VSF Task force on COVID-19.”

Other schools that benefitted from the gesture, which is being bankrolled by a former Defence Minister, Gen. Theophilus Yakubu Danjuma (rtd), included Government Day Girls Secondary School, Jahun, and Day Secondary School, Hadejia.

The chairperson explained that the VSF had earlier distributed a lot of emergency interventions on COVID-19 which include foods items and personal protection equipment (PPE).
