Two suspected bombers killed in Borno

The Borno State Police Command yesterday said two suspected suicide bombers were killed when they attempted to enter Maiduguri. The Command Public Relations Officer DSP Victor Isuku said in a statement sent to newsmen on whatsapp yesterday,

“On Saturday at 20:45 hours, two female suicide bombers, about 18 years of age, attempted to enter Maiduguri through Umarari in Molai general area about nine kilometres to Maiduguri township. They were sighted by the Civilian JTF and consequently shot dead by security personnel on duty in the area.” He said the police EOD team was mobilized to the scene to render the unexploded IED safe, while normalcy had been restored to the area.
