Two officers of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) were on Sunday killed in Anambra State.
The officials, whose identities were not available as of press time, were said to be on their routine traffic rescue patrol operations at Umuezedibia Junction on the Uga-Ezenihite-Igboukwu in Aguata Local Government Area of the state.
Police authorities in Anambra have confirmed the incident.
The Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of operations, DCP Aderemi Adeoye, said the two officers were killed while one was rescued with serious bullet injuries and was taken to hospital.
There has been an upsurge in attacks in Anambra in recent times.
The Administrative Headquarters of Nnewi South Local Government Area was attacked on March 31, while three local police divisions under renovation in the same LGA were attacked 24 hours later.
