Two men, Abubakar Suleiman and Abdulkarim Yahaya, have confessed to have conspired and raped a 6-year-old girl (name withheld) in Katoge Qrts, Man, Katsina State, police said.
The spokesman of Katsina Police Command, DSP Gambo Isah, in a statement said the suspects; both aged 18, were arrested by the police and have been arraigned before a court for prosecution.
He said they confessed to have conspired and lured the girl into their room and had unlawful carnal knowledge of her.
He called on people to always report suspicious movement and people to the police adding that such information will be used confidentiality.
Meanwhile, the state Police Commissioner, Usman Abdullahi, has called on religious leaders in the state to sensitize their followers on the need to sustain peace and harmony among the various ethnic and religious groups in the state.
