Two persons were confirmed dead, while three others escaped with injuries as gunmen invaded Rantis village of Gashish District, Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The community is one of the resettlement camps for internally displaced persons, who are victims of previous attacks in the district.

Daily Trust gathered that the attack took place at about 3:30pm on Wednesday, when the gunmen stormed the settlement on motorcycles.
A source gave the names of the victims of the attack as Dalyop Jugu and Yakubu Bot and those who escaped with injuries are Dahol Jam, Samson Boyi and Badung Boyi.
The injured were conveyed to hospital by the men of the Barkin Ladi division of the Nigerian police force.
Confirming the attack, the command’s Police public relations officer, ACP Gabriel Uba Agaba, said, “The Command is aware. Two persons were killed and two injured by yet-to-be identified gunmen at Rantis Village of Barkin Ladi.
“Team of Detectives were deployed to the area to restore normalcy. The CP has ordered an immediate investigation to unravel the circumstances behind the attack and to arrest the perpetrator(s).”
