A former board member of the Federal Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital, Calabar, Princess Filia Henshaw and a business mogul, Igwe Odinka Odinka, have been abducted in Calabar.
Both were abducted on Sunday in Calabar, Cross River state capital.
Family sources said Odinka, a septuagenarian, who is asthmatic was picked from his shop on Target Street at about 8 p.m. Princess Henshaw was reportedly kidnapped by gunmen same evening at her residence.
As at press time, contact was yet to be established with the suspected kidnappers but police authorities said they were on top of the matter.
Police PRO, Irene Ugbo said, “We are aware of the two abductions and are working on them. We have good links and will get to the roots.”
Speaking with journalists, a member of the Princess’ family, who pleaded anonymity, said “The gunmen came inside the compound while the generator was on, their first move was to turn off the generator to lure us outside
“The moment I opened the door to check what happened, I was brutally attacked by two gunmen while others were waiting outside.
“Immediately Mma (the victim) heard the struggles between me and the gunmen, she advanced outside. That was when she was ordered silently to a waiting car by the gunmen and was whisked away.”
