Operation Safe Haven (OPSH), a multi-security taskforce maintaining peace in Plateau, Bauchi, and Southern Kaduna, has paraded two suspected gunrunners in Jos, Plateau State.

OPSH commander, Major General Chukwuemeka Okonkwo, while parading the suspects at the headquarters of the command, said the arrest was in furtherance of the determination of the command to get rid of criminal elements in the state.

According to him, the two young men were arrested around Dong area of Jos South LGA of the state while conveying the guns in a tricycle.

In an interview with newsmen, the suspects revealed that they often bought the guns from one Bitrus in Vom at the sum of N120,000 each and sold it N140,000, adding that was the third time they bought the guns.

The commander, however, called on residents of the state to report any suspicious movement, adding that the fight against criminality was not only for the security agencies alone but also members of the public.
