Two Edo APC lawmakers join PDP

Two members of the Edo State House of Assembly who are members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), yesterday, defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The lawmakers said they defected following the division in the APC in their respective local governments. Following the defection, PDP now has nine members while APC has one in the 10-man house of assembly.

The Speaker of the assembly, Marcus Onubu, read letters announcing the defection of the lawmakers; Yekini Idaiye (Akoko-Edo 1) and Nosayaba Okunbor (Orhionmwon East).

The speaker welcomed the lawmakers to the PDP and commended their desire to work with the state governor in the development of the state.
