Two die, six injured in Lagos-Abeokuta expressway crash

Two persons, on Thursday, died while six others were injured in a motor accident on the Lagos-Abeokuta expressway.

It was gathered that the accident occurred at Awowo village, Ewekoro Local Government Area of Ogun State, at about 11:53 a.m on Thursday following loss of control by the driver of the vehicle.

The spokesman of the Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE), Babatunde Akinbiyi, confirmed the incident to our correspondent in Abeokuta.

He said the eight persons involved were two males and six females, including the driver.

He said one male and one female passenger died in the accident.

“The minibus was inbound Abeokuta with excessive speed which led to loss of control at a bend where the bus eventually somersaulted.

“The driver was among those injured in the crash,” he said.
