A Nigerian legal practitioner, Tope Akinyode, has filed a court process against former presidential candidate, Adamu Garba for suing Jack Dorsey, the CEO of  Twitter.

Akinyode disclosed this via his Twitter handle on Wednesday evening.

“Having been consulted by friends & colleagues, I’ve filed court processes to challenge @adamugarba’s lawsuit against @jack & @Twitter. Jack’s support for Nigeria’s cause is commendable. We’ll protect our freedom of expression & resist the move to ban Twitter in Nigeria”

Recall that Adamu Garba, sued Jack Dorsey for reportedly lending support to the ongoing #EndSARS protests rocking the nation.

Garba who is a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), accused Jack of meddling in the affairs of Nigeria and holds him responsible for the resultant violence that erupted from the protests.

He’s asked the  court to compel Jack to pay the Nigerian government $1 billion in compensation for all the damages caused by the #EndSARS protest.

He also asked the court to compel Jack to establish a Twitter office here in Nigeria. He alleged that the grand plan of Jack and others is to topple the government of the day.

While Garba sued Jack and Akinyode is suing Garba in return, the online community poured out their thoughts and feelings.

Garba reacts

Garba has reacted to Akinyode’s tweet.

We rather support Jack

Twitter users say they would rather support Jack Dorsey than a government that’s failed them woefully.

Resist the urge to ‘Shalaye’

Tweeter users have bounced on Garba asking him to resist the urge to explain and meet with Akinyode in court.

Jack is too patient

And if many were to be in Jack’s shoes, they would have bounced Garba off Twitter a long time ago.
