Tunisia, Algeria don’t scare Super Eagles – Pascal

A former international and Coordinator of the Super Eagles, Patrick Pascal has said the senior national team of Nigeria is not scared of facing the Carthage Eagles of Tunisia and Desert Foxes of Algeria in next month’s friendly matches.

The Chairman of Bauchi State Football Association said the Super Eagles are motivated to ‘revenge’ 2019 AFCON semi-final loss to Algeria.

The former 3SC star, however, said the Super Eagles have no reason to undermine the strength of their opponents in the two matches.

“Super Eagles are not scared of playing Tunisia and Algeria rather they should be scared of playing Nigeria because we were better when we played at the 2019 AFCON in Egypt.

“We defeated Tunisia in the third-place match at the AFCON, they should be scared of us and so the pressure would not be on the Super Eagles but on Tunisia and Algeria.

“We played Brazil, Poland and other big countries and we performed well. The Super Eagles are dreaded by even some of the powerhouses in world football.

“They look at Chukwueze, Osimhen, Samuel Kalu and try to figure out how to contain them because they are very fast with the ball,” he said.

Pascal also said the invitation extended to seven uncapped youngsters is a step in the right direction adding that Nigerians are expecting an impressive performance from the team.

“With the calibre of players the Coach has invited, I am confident that the Super Eagles will come out tops at the end of the matches.

“Without doubt some players would be coming into the team for the very first time. They will do everything to justify the confidence reposed in them,” he said.
