Tukur: I will remain in politics till I die

In a statement by his Special Assistant on media, Prince Oliver Okpala, yesterday in Abuja, Tukur said he is in politics to serve the nation and contribute his quota to national development and does not see any reason for retirement when the nation is in dire need of experienced and  veteran politicians and elder statesmen like him.
Tukur, who is Nigeria’s Ambassador-At-Large, was reacting to a publication captioned “PDP Leaders Whose Lights Fade with President’s Defeat” in which his name was also mentioned.
He said that he would remain in politics in order to continue to advise young politicians on the need to institutionalise party discipline, supremacy and internal democracy.
He emphasised that as long as things are not been put in proper shape in the country, elder statesmen like him will remain in politics to bring sanity into the polity.
