If not for the prompt and bold display of the troops of Operation Hadin Kai, in conjunction with the police and vigilantes, a different story would have been written about Jiddari Polo.

Last Tuesday at about 5.pm insurgents drove in on motorcycles and trucks from the Aldawari axis and started shooting sporadically which made many residents to desert their houses for safety. Within a very short time the entire ward was thrown into pandemonium as people ran helter-skelter.
The shootings became more intense with the arrival of security troops to counter the invasion, and within a short time, success was recorded as according to reports, nine of the terrorists were neutralised while many escaped with gunshot wounds and dangerous and sophisticated weapons were recovered from them.
Such episode has not been witnessed in this area for a long time and the heroic display of our security forces led hundreds of residents to pour out into Federal High Court Road in jubilation.
The acting Governor of Borno State, Umar Usman Kadafur, just like his Principal, Prof Babagana Umara Zulum, commended the effort of the security agents over their gallantry.
