Tudun Wada residents sensitised on exercising

The Medical Foundation of Nigerian Students (MFNS) has counselled residents of Tudun Wada community in Kaduna State on the need to engage in physical exercise in order to promote flexibility, body balance, as well as improve mental and physiological comfort.

The students, who sensitised mostly pregnant women and those with potential risks for diseases such as diabetes, cardiovascular and renal disorders, said the importance of exercise to human health could not be overemphasised.

The students, including Ramatu Muhammad, Aisha Lawal, Khadija Hamisu and Nusaiba Umar Isah, said pregnant women stood a chance of overcoming complications when they exercised, adding that it sped up heart rate, blood flow and sufficient respiratory process.

They added that exercise also promoted flexibility and body balance, pointing out that other benefits of exercise were weight loss, blood sugar regulation, physical capability and health promotion.
