Trust TV correspondent in Imo dies

Ajibade Owefoso, a correspondent for Trust TV in Imo State, has died.

He died at the weekend in Lagos.

It was learnt that neighbours discovered his body after they noticed he had not responded to several knocks on his door and subsequently forced it open.

Ajibade is survived by his wife and three children.

He had recently buried his father-in-law in Imo State, with various associations, including the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Correspondents’ Chapter, showing solidarity at the event.

Reacting, the Chief Operating Officer of Trust TV, Ibrahim Shehu Adamu, described the late Ajibade as a dynamic and passionate reporter whose energy and dedication brought life to every story he covered.

“His sudden passing is a profound loss to all of us at Trust TV, and his vibrant presence will be deeply missed. Ajibade’s journalistic excellence and engaging reporting style made him a valuable member of our team.

“His stand-ups brought stories to life, and his absence leaves a void that cannot be filled. We mourn his untimely passing,” he added.

In his condolence message, Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State described the deceased as a hardworking, committed, dutiful and God fearing journalist who plied his trade responsibly, ensuring that he did not compromise on the ethics of the media profession he belonged to.

The governor extended his sincere condolences to the young family and aged mother at this challenging time in their lives.
