Last weekend’s fixtures involving the ‘Big Six’ showed why the Premier League is the most watched football league in the world. The London derby had a couple of controversial decisions, interesting celebrations and a face-off between Tuchel and Conte while Klopp’s men were held to a 1-1 draw against Palace.

Here are the predictions for this week’s Matchday 3 fixtures:

Tottenham vs Wolves, Saturday 12:30pm

Spurs are coming off a disappointing display at Stamford Bridge where their dynamic trio of Kane, Son and Kulusevski were silent for most of the match. They must have learnt from that so a better performance should be expected from Conte’s men. Wolves have had an underwhelming start so far, taking a point from two games. The last five league games between these sides have ended in 2 wins for both sides and a draw. Spur’s defender, Cristian Romero is injured which is bad news for their defense. However, Harry Kane will be looking to break the record for most PL goals for a single club. This should end in a Spurs win with both teams scoring.

Score: Tottenham 2-1 Wolves

Bournemouth vs Arsenal, Saturday 3pm

After a good start to the season with a win against Aston Villa, Scott Parker’s men were properly reintroduced to the Premier League after a 4-0 thrashing by Man City. Bournemouth may still be without their main man Solanke meaning they still lack firepower upfront. Their opponent’s, the Gunners have started the season well with victories over Crystal Palace and Leicester as Gabriel Jesus showed his pre-season performance was not a fluke. City and Arsenal are similar as they are good in retaining possession so the Cherries will struggle.

Score: Bournemouth 0-2 Arsenal

Leeds vs Chelsea, Sunday 2pm

Chelsea won this fixture twice last season scoring six times and conceding 2 goals. Leeds conceded 79 goals last season, the second worst just behind Norwich and their home ground was not a place of promise. However, they have started the season well with four points so far. They face a Chelsea side highly motivated from their performance last week and although the Blues are without Ngolo Kante and Mateo Kovacic, they are expected to put in a good shift. New signings Marc Cucurella and Kalidou Koulibaly put on brilliant displays against spurs. The players to watch are Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Mason Mount.

Score: Leeds 1-3 Chelsea

Newcastle vs Man City, Sunday 4:30pm

Man City have won the last five league meetings, scoring a whopping 20 goals while conceding just 3. Last season, when Eddie Howe’s team were on a brilliant run, the Citizens still managed to put 5 past them.  Although Newcastle have improved on their defensive side, Guardiola’s men are experts in splitting defences. Joao Cancelo and Kevin De Bruyne are top 5 for defence splitting passes so this will be a tricky one for the Magpies.

Score: Newcastle 0- 2 Man City

Man United vs Liverpool, Monday 8pm

The Man United situation is not new to anyone, after last week’s 4-0 defeat to Brentford which set Twitter ablaze. This fixture would send scary thoughts to their fans. Most recent stats point to another embarrassing defeat at Old Trafford but it is doubtful if that would happen.  In 2019, Liverpool were on an excellent run and before the game against United, their players were pictured playing Basketball which led to many jokes about the game. Everyone thought United had no chance but the game ended in 1-1. History may not repeat itself but it is believed Eric ten Haag can learn one or two things from Liverpool’s draws against Fulham and Crystal Palace.

Score: Man United 1-2 Liverpool
