A truckload of almajirai has been intercepted at the tollgate on Abuja-Kaduna expressway, the Kaduna state government says.
In a tweet, the state’s ministry of human services and social development said the truck was laden with children and young adults.
Upon interrogation, it was found that the boys were almajirai from Minna in Niger State on their way to Zaria, Kaduna.
The Ministry stated that the almajirai have been moved to the Mando camp where the state government has placed other boys on isolation.
On Thursday, Benue also sent back 58 youths alleged to have been trafficked into the state.
Sixteen almajirai boys from Kano State on Wednesday tested positive for Covid-19 bringing the total number of almajirai cases who tested positive to the virus to 21.
Earlier, the state government on Monday announced that it recorded five cases of covid-19 among Almajirai boys who were repatriated from Kano State.
