Yobe State governor, Alhaji Ibrahim Gaidam re-emphasized on Sunday that the military withdrawal from secondary schools locations in Dapchi and Buni-Yadi had aided attack on the schools.

The governor, who spoke during a sympathy visit paid to him by his Borno State counterpart, also Chairman, Northern governors forum, Alhaji Kashim Shettima, said the military did not notify them when troops were withdrawn.

"I want to put the record straight, there were no military presence at the time of Boko haram attack on Government Girls Science and Technical College Dapchi.  We weren’t notified when the Military withdrew.

"The Dapchi and Buni-Yadi attacks are similar because both attacks came weeks after the military withdrew from those locations. I want the press to quote me on this" he said.

Governor Gaidam said the excuses given to him by the theater commander that the withdrawal was due to shortage of personnel is unacceptable.

"When I met the Theater commander on why the military where withdrawn, he said they have shortage of manpower. To me, it is not an excuse because it’s duty bound for the FG to recruit and bridge the gab" he added.

The Boko Haram militants had attack Federal government Buni-Yadi where 29 students were killed in February 2014.
