The combined Nigerian Army troops of Combat Team (CT) 7 of 27 Task Force Brigade in conjunction with hunters group have thwarted an attempt to blow upa tower of the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) around Kasesa village on outskirts of Damaturu, Yobe State capital.
Acting Assistant Director Army Public Relations Headquarters Sector 2 Damaturu, Captain Shehu Muhammad, disclosed this to newsmen.
He said after credible intelligence on Boko Haram activities, troops swiftly laid a successful ambush on the terrorists.
He said the terrorists abandoned a Toyota Corolla, 8 prepared Improvised Explosive Devices (IED), detonating cables, 2 damaged tyres as well as trade test card/certificate after the troops brought heavy volume of fire on them.

According to him, The Commander Sector 2 Operation Hadin Kai Brigadier General MCE Ejike, applauded the good people of Yobe State for providing timely and useful information which has enhanced operational success.
“Captain Muhammad said Brigadier General Ejike, urged the general public to remain vigilant and continue to provide useful information to security agencies in the state as well as report any suspicious movement or persons around them timely.”
