Troops of the Operation Thunder Strike (OPTS) have reportedly recovered four AK47 rifles, which were part of an alleged stash belonging to the late bandit, Nasiru Kachalla, who was killed in December 2020.
The Kaduna State government on Monday said security report indicated that the weapons were recovered with the aid of local human intelligence sources and that efforts were ongoing to recover more of the weapons.

Daily Trust reports that Kachalla who was killed in a clash with a rival group around the boundaries of Kajuru-Chikun LGA was responsible for several high profile kidnappings and killings along the Kaduna -Birnin Gwari highway as well as Kaduna- Abuja highway.
However, a statement by Kaduna State Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan said Governor Nasir El-Rufai had commended the security agencies for recovering the weapons and urged them to pursue all available leads towards exposing more arms caches used by the bandits.
