The infamous terrorist, Buharin Yadi, one of the deadliest bandits’ leaders terrorising Northern Nigeria for the past decade, has met his end in the hands of security forces.
Troops of Sector 6 of Operation Whirl Punch launched an assault on the kingpin, known as Buhari Alhaji Halidu, alias Buharin Yadi, and his cohorts, ending their reign of terror.
Halidu was neutralised in a fierce battle with the troops around Idasu Forest on the boundary between Giwa LGA of Kaduna State and Sabuwa LGA of Katsina State, as disclosed in a statement by Samuel Aruwan, the overseeing Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs.
Aruwan explained that the troops initiated the covert operation in response to intelligence reports on the terrorists’ movements from the Samunaka and Saulawa areas of Katsina State.

He said, “Upon advancing to Samunaka, the troops discovered the settlement destroyed and cattle killed, evidence of recent criminal activity by the bandits.
“Kachalla Buhari Alhaji Halidu, also known as Buharin Yadi or Buhari Janar, and his brigands had been unleashing terror on citizens in the Kidandan/Galadimawa general areas of Giwa LGA, Sabon Birni/Kerawa general areas of Igabi LGA, other locations in nearby Sabuwa LGA of Katsina state, and some parts of Niger and Zamfara states.”
