Troops of the Operation Safe Haven, a multi-security taskforce maintaining peace in Plateau and some parts of Bauchi and Kaduna states, have said they killed no fewer than 13 armed criminals and arrested 271 suspects in those areas.
Terzungwe Iyua, a deputy commissioner of police and deputy commander of Operation Safe Haven, disclosed this yesterday during a press briefing at the command’s headquarters in Jos, explaining that the neutralisation of the criminals and the arrest of the suspects were recorded between January and February this year.

He explained that within two months, “A total of 79 civilians were rescued from kidnappers and armed robbers, while a total of 110 different calibers of weapons were recovered and 1,161ammunition recovered from suspected criminals.
He appreciated the people of Plateau, Kaduna and Bauchi states for their immense support and cooperation towards ensuring credible information, and urged them to priortise peace.
