Trinity varsity announces convocation ceremony

The acting vice-chancellor of Trinity University, Yaba, Lagos, Professor Clement Kolawole, has announced that the convocation ceremonies of the university will be held from February 21 to 23, 2024 on the university campus.

A statement from the Principal Assistant Registrar (Corporate Affairs), Michael Bamigbola, said the three-day event, with the theme ‘Convoking a Galaxy of Trinity Stars’, will start with a press conference at 11am and a programme of student activities at 4pm on Wednesday.

“It will be followed by the Convocation Lecture at 11am and the thanksgiving service at 4pm on Thursday 22, February 2024.

The lecture, titled, ‘Disruptive Technology: The Ambiguous Friend!’ will be delivered by Professor Adenike Osofisan, the first African woman Professor of Computer Science, and chaired by Deacon Adebowale Tade, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Trinity University.

“The third day, Friday 23, February 2024, will have the main convocation ceremonies, with highlights consisting of investiture of chancellor, award of honorary degrees and award of first degrees and presentation of prizes,” he said.

He added that the university, which is fully accredited by the National Universities Commission (NUC) since commencing activities in the 2018/19 academic session, has matriculated five sets of students and graduated two, who are being convoked in the coming ceremonies.
