The Lagos State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal yesterday threw out the petitions filed by the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) and the Action Peoples Party (APP) against the victory of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his Deputy, Obafemi Hamzat, in the March 18, governorship election.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the All Progressives Congress (APC) are other respondents to the petitions.

The petitions were dismissed by the Chairman of the three-man tribunal, Justice Arum Ashom, after the petitioners withdrew them.

Sanwo-Olu polled 762,134 votes to defeat his closest rival, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour of the Labour Party (LP) who polled 312,329.
