The Kano State High Court has fixed December 6, for the continuation of hearing in the trial of a Chinese, Frank Geng Quarong, who is accused of killing his girlfriend, Ummulkusum Sani (Ummita), on September 17, 2022, at her Kuntau residence in the Janbullo area of Dorayi in Gwale LGA of Kano State.
The spokesman of the high court, Baba Jibo Ibrahim, said the case was suspended for about eight months due to the absence of the judge, Justice Aminu Ado Maaji, who was on the panel of one of the election tribunals.
It would be recalled that Mr Quarong confirmed killing Ummita with a knife.
While being cross-examined, the defendant told the prosecution counsel, Barrister Aisha Mahmud, that he came to Nigeria in 2019 and was working with BBY Textile Company and that he earned N1.5m monthly.
