A House of Representatives member for Vandeikya/Konshisha Federal Constituency in Benue State, Herman Hembe, has blamed the recent train attack on the Kaduna-Abuja Road as well as the rising spate of insecurity across the country on saboteurs who want to discredit the All Progressives Congress (APC) government.
Hembe stated this at the weekend in a chat with newsmen in Makurdi, shortly after a consultative meeting with the state executives of the party ahead of his governorship aspiration.
“Security in this country is becoming a mess and I think that there are people in this country who are deliberately out to sabotage this government. You will also notice that as we are drawing closer to elections, the spate of killings and destruction has increased; look at the Kaduna train bombing,” he said.
“You cannot separate politics from some of these things. People understand that if you sabotage the APC now, other political parties may have advantage as we are getting to the general electioneering season,” he added.
“I think the problem of this country is not the political party, it is the political will of those holding offices to do what is right and needed for us to experience peace,” he said.
