Eight persons and unspecified number of cows were reportedly killed after a commercial trailer coming from the northern part of the country rammed into a stationary vehicle in Kwara State.
It was gathered that the incident occurred at Okoolowo junction, Ilorin South Local Government Area of the state around 6am Wednesday.

According to a resident, Salaudeen Abiola, the driver of the cow-filled trailer with registration no DAT SGM396ZR rammed into another trailer that was parked along the road.
He said a male victim believed to be the owner of the animals who was with the driver died on the spot.
“The other victims include ram sellers and traders around the place during the incident. It was a gory sight to behold,” he said.
Another eyewitness said 10 Hausa and two Yoruba people were among the victims, adding that the corpses had been deposited at the morgue of the General Hospital, Ilorin.
The Kwara State Federal Road Safety Commander, Frederick Ogidan, confirmed the incident to Daily Trust on Saturday.
He said, “Seventeen people were involved in the accident, but 8 died while 4 were injured.”
