There is traffic chaos in Ikeja GRA Lagos and its environs following the blockades of major roads in one of the busiest commercial areas of the state by the police.
Daily Trust observed that the entire stretches of Joel Ogunnaike and Isaac John roads in the state capital were barricaded by the police.
Several police patrol vehicles, including Armoured Personnel Carriers, were also stationed at strategic parts of Ikeja GRA.
Our correspondent learnt that the blockade which caught many people including workers, visitors and residents, unawares, was as a result of the impending visit of the Inspector-General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba.
He has not arrived Lagos as of the time of filing this report and the time the blockade started with many vehicles diverted from the popular Joel Ogunnaike and Isaac John streets.
The popular Joel Ogunnaike and Isaac John roads play host to several businesses and hotels where many events take place on a daily basis.
Many people were also forced to trek from Ikeja Under-Bridge to most parts of the GRA as commercial cabs and buses plying the GRA were also prevented.
