President Muhammadu Buhari has assured the nation’s traditional rulers of his support on their roles for the success of the 2023 general elections and the National Population Commission (NPC) Census.
He gave the assurance on Monday in Abuja at the 13th National Council of Traditional Rulers of Nigeria (NCTRN), with the theme, ‘Planning and Preparation towards a Successful Conduct of 2023 General Elections and Population Census, the Expected Role of Traditional Rulers’.
President Buhari was represented by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Mr Boss Gida Mustapha.
“I make bold to say that without an active role and participation of the traditional institutions in this country, both of the undertakings we intend to do in 2023 would not succeed. I am saying this because I want you to understand that this meeting is not an ordinary meeting, it is a meeting that would define the future of our country.
