Traditional ruler, 80, kidnapped in Yobe

Daily Trust gathered that the kidnappers stormed his residence around 11:00 pm and took him away with his Prado Jeep.
A close relative said the Waziri just had a chat with his oldest son around 11:00 pm, and a few minutes after the son left for his house, the kidnappers struck.
He said six people arrived the house on three motorcycles, shot into the air, ransacked the house and picked him with the jeep. A security source said the kidnappers had planned to attack Babangida, headquarters of Tarmowa Local Government Area but instead moved to Biriri to seize the Waziri as security was tight.
“We got a tip-off and received more reinforcement, that is why they changed their plan and went to abduct the traditional ruler”, the source said. The Waziri has been active in Yobe politics, especially in his constituency.
