Many traders have lost property worth millions of naira in a fire that gutted many shops in Gwarzo town, Gwarzo local government market of Kano State.
The fire incident, which occurred on Monday, has thrown the victims into huge losses as many of them were seen crying and lamenting.
The spokesperson of the Kano State Fire Service, Saminu Yusif Abdullahi, said the fire started midnight but was finally put out Monday morning.
He explained that dozens of shops were completely razed by the inferno, while property worth millions of naira were destroyed. He, however, said there was no injury or loss of life.

One of the traders, Dayyabu Lawan Bala, said he lost property worth over N5 million including his shop. He then called on government and other well-to-do people to come to their assistance to minimize their suffering.
The member representing Gwarzo Federal Constituency, Hon Abdulahi Muazu Babangandu, sympathised with the traders and donated N500,000 after visiting the scene.
