Trader jailed 2 years for stealing chairs

A magistrates’ court in Jos, Plateau State, on Wednesday, sentenced a 24-year- old trader, Titus Ishaku, to two years imprisonment for stealing 24 pieces of plastic chairs.

The Magistrate, Malam Lawal Suleiman, however, gave him an option of N50,000 fine.

Earlier, the prosecutor, Monday Dabit, told the court that the case was reported on July 26, at the Anglo-Jos police station by one Dadung Joshua.

Dabit told the court that the accused broke into a shop and stole 24 pieces of plastic chairs and that during police investigation the chairs were recovered and returned back to the owner. (NAN)
