A magistrates’ court in Jos, Plateau State, on Thursday, sentenced a 32-year-old trader, Abdullahi Shuaibu, to two years in prison for stealing two cows.
The Judge, Mr Tapmwa Gotep, who sentenced Shuaibu following a guilty plea, however, gave him an option of N30,000 fine.

Earlier, the prosecutor, Insp William Awe, told the court that the defendant was arrested by policemen from the Rantya Police Division on January 7, on his way to sell the stolen cows. (NAN)
