The senator representing Enugu-East Senatorial District, Senator Gilbert Nnaji, has expressed concern  over the low turnout of voters in the area, saying town criers have been mobilised to call out voters.

Speaking with newsmen after his accreditation, Senator Nnaji said the level of apathy in the area is quite disturbing, hence the need to use town criers. Our correspondent, who went round some polling units, observed low turnout in most centres.

Meanwhile, the PDP governorship candidate in Enugu State, Chief Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, has expressed confidence of winning the polls. Ugwuanyi who was accredited at his Amube village hall, Ward 1, Ohom Orba, Udenu LGA, Enugu State around 11:10am, said his election would give him an opportunity to serve.
