The Chairman of Toto Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, Abdullahi Aliyu Tashas, has expressed displeasure over the unhygienic condition of the abattoir in the area.
Mr Tashas, while speaking during an inspection tour of the abattoir on Saturday, said it was quite disheartening that the abattoir had been without proper maintenance.
He said despite the unhygienic nature of the abattoir, butchers still slaughtered cows and sold to the public.

He said the local government would soon award contract for sinking of boreholes at the abattoir, as well as construction of a waste channel.
