Niger Tornadoes FC are confident they will be the first club to end the unbeaten home record of El-Kanemi Warriors when they meet in tomorrow’s NPFL match at the El-Kanemi stadium in Maiduguri.

El-Kanemi Warriors have gone unbeaten for 19 matches since they returned to their home ground after playing away from home for close to two seasons due to the menace of Boko Haram.

Since they returned home, they have not tasted defeat but Technical Adviser of Tornadoes, Coach Abubakar Bala believes with a level playing field, his tornadoes will rip apart that record.

He told Daily Trust on Saturday that recent performances of his boys have given him the confidence that they can go up against El-Kanemi without any fear.

The coach said clubs have fallen in Maiduguri but the story of Tornadoes is going to be different because they are going to stick to their game plan no matter the odds.

He said they will not sit back and soak pressure from El-Kanemi but go out and attack the Warriors because the best form of defence is to attack.

“Our aim is to go to Maiduguri and win the three points. El-Kanemi have a good home record but we are not intimidated.

“Records are meant to be broken so Niger Tornadoes will fight to end Warriors unbeaten home record.

“We have a game plan and we shall ensure we stick to it. We would not allow them to dictate the pace of play, “he said.

Bala however acknowledged the good run of El-Kanemi Warriors this season but said Tornadoes are not intimidated.

He maintained that having played against some of the best clubs in the NPFL with good results to show, Tornadoes have got the needed confidence to play against any team.

“We recognise the performances of El-Kanemi Warriors. They ‘re presently second on the log and this means they are a formidable side.

“We respect them but we shall take the fight to them and ensure we get a good result. It won’t be easy but we shall fight for the maximum points, “ he assured.
