Niger Tornadoes Coach and his players are beginning to come to terms with life in the elite division of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) and are expressing their determination to overcome the challenges that has seen them drop points at home and not securing any on the road.
Following a 2-2 draw midweek against Sunshine Stars, star player, Tasiu Lawal poured out his frustrations, declaring to npfl.ng, “this place we are is not our position…We have to find a way out of here as fast as possible”.
Lawal was obviously making reference to their 13th placing on the log with 11 points from 10 games. It was Lawal’s penalty goal that brought Tornadoes level on scores to grab the one point after trailing 2-1.
Tornadoes Coach, Abubakar Biffo is one of the many young coaches in the NPFL that have been praised by one of their senior colleagues, Solomon Ogbeide, whose club, Sunshine Stars shared points at the Confluence Stadium with his side.
For him, getting into the top half of the log is more important than the personal glory as he bemoaned another dropped points at home, the second on the trot after drawing with Rivers United.
