The paramount ruler of Tiv people worldwide, Tor Tiv, Professor James Ayatse, has adopted award-winning cultural performers, Mercy and Blessing Nev, into his royal family.
Prof Ayatse made the announcement when the Benue State Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Mathew Abo, presented the twins to him in his palace in Gboko town in Benue State.
Represented by the acting Director of the Benue State Council for Arts and Culture, Mrs Janet Daagba, the commissioner explained that the twins were recently honoured by the Benue State House of Assembly for promoting cultural activities.
The Tor Tiv expressed happiness that the twins had taken to making positive contributions in the culture sector rather than waywardness, stressing that they were uplifting the entire Tiv race.
