Residents of southern Kaduna have been urged to stop the incessant killings and embrace one another irrespective of tribal and religious differences.
The Senator representing Southern Kaduna Senatorial District, Danjuma Tella Laah, made the call at the ground-breaking ceremony of a 20-bed Primary Healthcare Centre (PHC) in Gbonkok village of Arak ward in Sanga LGA.
Senator Laah called on the people of Sanga and the entire people of southern Kaduna to show tolerance to one another in order to pave the way for meaningful development in the area.
He described the perpetrators of killings in the area as “real enemies of development,” adding that the Almighty will never leave them unpunished. He said the PHC, when completed, would bring succor and better healthcare to the community as well as reduce the high cases of maternal and child mortality.
Speaking on behalf of the community, the traditional ruler of Gwantu, Brigadier General Ilya Yamma (rtd), commended the effort of the senator in facilitating the construction of the clinic in his chiefdom, saying it will in no small way help his people.
Speaking through the Gwantu Traditional Council Secretary, Jibril S. Kogi, the traditional ruler called on the people to ensure proper maintenance of the facility when completed.
He also urged the senator to ensure that qualified doctors and nurses are deployed to the clinic so that people from far and near can have confidence in the facility. Arewa Trust Weekly reports that when completed, the facility will consist of a laboratory, delivery room, pharmacy, offices and four boreholes.
