The body has also condemned those who masterminded and carried out destruction of campaign materials belonging to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.
President-General of the group, Engr. Edward UJege, in a statement, noted that the perpetrators of the act have failed to understand that politics is a game played by brothers who must continue at all times to live as bosom friends.
He said: “Mdzough U Tiv has received with shock and disappointment the news of the destruction of property at Half Haven Hotel and the Ortom/Abonu APC campaign organisation headquarters at Oracle printing Press, High Level in Makurdi. While we were about to attend to the nasty news, we read of a complaint from the PDP candidate. This is not our idea of politics, as we explained earlier during our parley with political parties in Gboko. Politics is not war or a do or die affair.”
He said that the Tiv people needed peace, advancement and not destruction or show of hatred.
Meanwhile, the Tarzoor/Ngbede Campaign Organization (TARN 2015) has called on the police and security agencies to fish out those behind the provocative acts.
