Tipper crushes father of 30, 1 other to death in Kogi

A 60-year-old father of 30 children who works as a commercial motorcycle rider, Abdulsalam Ibrahim, and his passenger were crushed by a truck on Friday in Lokoja, Kogi State.

Kogi State Motorcycle Riders Association’s Chairman, Mallam Musa Baba Aliyu, confirmed the incident on Saturday, saying the rider was a registered member of the association, and that he hailed from Katsina State, but noted that the passenger’s identity could not be ascertained.

He told City & Crime that the incident happened when the victim fell with his passenger in front of a tipper in an attempt to negotiate out of the way of a Keke NAPEP around Dunamis church on the Lokoja-Ajaokuta highway.

The Kogi State Commandant of the FRSC, Stephen Dawulung, said it was a case of hit-and-run.
