The First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has reaffirmed the commitment of the present administration to support and encourage Nigerians, families and vulnerable individuals to live a good life.
Senator Tinubu said this in Lafia, Nassarawa State on Tuesday during the distribution of food items to residents of the state under the auspices of the Renewed Hope Initiative Food Outreach Scheme.
The First Lady, who was represented by the wife of the vice president, Hajiya Nana Shettima, appreciated the people for believing in the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration and the Renewed Hope Initiative.
She said the food outreach was designed to provide support to the underprivileged, in line with the resolve of President Tinubu not to leave anyone behind in ensuring food security and sufficiency in the country.

Consequently, a trailer-load of assorted food items was donated to the state government for onward distribution to identified groups; courtesy of a notable and public-spirited industry that made a commitment to make the food items available on a monthly basis.
The First Lady said the food outreach was targeted at internally displaced persons, persons with disabilities, leper colonies and other vulnerable groups, and would be taken round the country to ease access to food.
She said: “So far, the Federal Capital Territory, Kano, and now, Nasarawa states have benefitted from the scheme under the Social Investment Programme of the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI). By the grace of God, our next stop will be in Benue State, while other states will also benefit in due course.
“In addition to the Social Investment programme, the Renewed Hope Initiative also has other programmes focusing on health, agriculture, education and economic empowerment to better the lives of families in the country.
“So far, the RHI has donated agricultural implements and provided financial support to female farmers, awarded several scholarships to students in tertiary institutions, information and communication training for women, financial support to the elderly, among many other initiatives,” he said.
In his remarks, the Nasarawa State governor Abdullahi Sule, who was represented by his deputy, Dr Emmanuel Akabe, noted that caring for women, youth and children had become the hallmark of the First Lady’s RHI, bringing succour to them all.
He appreciated the gesture, saying the donation was indeed a great relief.
