Stakeholders yesterday urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to engage young people in policy development and review processes to smoothen implementation and bridge the gap between policymakers and youths.
They spoke in Abuja at the National Youth Leadership Conference with the theme, ‘Amplifying Youth Voice and Forging Opportunities for Collaborative Policy Making’.
The conference, organised by the International Alert, the Africa Youth Growth Foundation (AYGF) and the International Organisation for Migration (IOM) was to amplify the voices of youths and bring the issues of their inclusiveness in governance to the front burner.
Country Director, International Alert Nigeria, Paul Nyulaku, said though there had been quite a lot of interests around youths involvement, it would continue to remain a dream if actionable steps were not taken.
Executive Director, AYGF, Arome Salifu, said the organization, alongside International Alert, with funding support from the European Union and the IOM, organised the event to advance youths inclusion in the developmental agenda of the federal administration.
