President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated His Royal Highness, the Etsu Nupe, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar, on his 72nd birthday on Thursday, 12 September.
The president, in a statement yesterday by his spokesman, Bayo Onanuga, recognised the strong and purposeful leadership of Etsu Nupe as Chairman of the Niger State Council of Traditional Rulers and his contributions to the traditional leadership institution and community development.
President Tinubu commended the first-class traditional ruler whose birthday coincided with his 21st anniversary on the throne for supporting education and development initiatives and facilitating healthcare projects in Nupe Kingdom.
Relatedly, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Abbas Tajuddeen, has felicitated with Etsu Nupe, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar, and Katsina State governor, Dikko Umaru Radda, as they celebrate 72 and 55 years birthdays respectively.

In separate congratulatory messages signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Musa Abdullahi Krishi, on Wednesday, he congratulated the duo for their contributions to the nation’s development in various capacities.
The speaker, while congratulating Etsu Nupe, as he clocks 72 on Thursday, described him as an elder statesman and one of the most revered monarchs in Nigeria and the foremost traditional ruler in Niger State who has been on the throne since 2003.
