Ayantayo said: “To all those raising stories and calling for termination of Okotete’s Ministerial Appointment, cannot know more than the President who selected based on youthfulness, commitment, gender and vast experience in public service.

“It is very sad that some individual posing as lawyers, still prefers recycled old individuals in our country’s Ministerial sector. These persons are constituting and resorting to the usual campaign of calumny and unnecessary antics ,in fact they through the help of shadow parties, sponsor and fund smear campaigns against Stella Okotete’s nomination in a bid to arm-twist the President to reconsider his position and succumb to their positions and preferences.

“I wonder what kind of negative narrative will be raised against a woman who graduated from the Benson Idahosa University with a degree in International Studies and Diplomacy, Diploma in Law from the Rivers State College of Arts and Sciences, a Master’s degree in Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution from the National Open University of Nigeria and an ongoing Executive Master’s in Business Administration (EMBA) from the esteemed University of Abuja (Nigeria). Though her wealth of knowledge, she has been an advocate and played a very pivotal role in mobilizing and empowering APC women which contributed significantly to the Party’s success in the 2023 elections. Should should a person with these huge pedigree not be giving a fair chance?

“I sincerely thank President Tinubu for considering Okotete and other women on the list, they are very deserving of the nomination. I am strongly optimistic that they will deliver beyond the negative perceptions of naysayers. It would be in the best interest of these naysayers, faceless humans to desist from propagating scandalous and mischievous articles against Okotete going forward because they can never know more than President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.”
