All Progressives Congress national leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu mourned the late former Minister of Commerce and Industry, Mahmud Tukur, describing him as one that deployed his knowledge and intelligence in serving Nigeria.
He said the late Tukur made valuable contributions to project Nigeria, particularly in the Northern region.

Tinubu while commiserating with President Muhammadu Buhari, First Lady Aisha Buhari, and Mallam Mamman Daura over the passing of renowned scholar and former minister, Dr Mahmud Tukur, who died on Friday, said he was saddened by the news of his death.
Tinubu in a statement by his media aide, Tunde Rahman prayed that Nigerians find the strength and fortitude to bear the unfortunate loss.
“I knew the late Dr. Tukur well as a scholar, prominent politician, and fervent nationalist. I fondly recall his academic prowess and I was mightily impressed by the excellent work he did as the first Vice-Chancellor of Bayero University, Kano, laying the foundations for the university’s enduring success even after the conclusion of his tenure.
A former minister of Commerce and Industry, Dr Mahmud Tukur died in the early hours of Friday.
He was the first Vice-Chancellor of Bayero University, Kano, and also a former director of Cadbury Nigeria.
He died from an undisclosed ailment after he was rushed to a hospital in Abuja from his base in Kaduna.
