Kano State House of Assembly member representing Kano municipal constituency, Dr. Baffa Babban Dan’agundi on Monday described Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as a symbol of national unity and a front-line politician who built lasting political bridges through unmeasurable alliances across divides in the country.
Speaking during a reception held in honour of All Progressive Congress (APC) national leader’s birthday for some APC members across the 44 local governments across the state, Dan’agundi added that, Tinubu’s contributions towards the development of democracy in Nigeria will forever remain in the nation’s book of history as a man who stood for what the majority of Nigerians wants.
"We decided to celebrate the living icon in Kano to give our members who can’t travel to Lagos the chance to be part of his 66 years birthday celebration. However, we intend to make this an annual event here. We want to let the world know that, Nigerians respects and treasures people who believe in it," said Dan’agundi.
He added that, the choice of Tinubu to head the party’s reconciliation team is indeed the best decision the party has ever made stressing that all he is optimistic that members of the party will cooperate with the committee to ensure its success and the success of the party come 2019.
