Tinubu has 60% chances of winning 2023 presidency – VON DG

A chieftain of the APC and Director General of the Voice of Nigeria (VON), Osita Okechukwu, has said the party’s presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has 60 per cent chances of winning the 2023 poll.

Okechukwu, who spoke with newsmen yesterday in Abuja, said Tinubu had the support of the North, hence his bright chances of winning.

While noting that the candidates of the PDP, Atiku Abubakar; Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi and the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, were not a threat to Tinubu, he said, “Nobody can win in Nigeria if you can’t have Northern support. No Northerner can win without Southern stronghold. Atiku has lost in the Southern stronghold.

“That’s why I’m giving Tinubu about 60 per cent chances. The day Okowa returned home, his godfather, James Ibori, was not there, and they were in Delta. So, where are you going to fetch that water?

“Asiwaju has 60 per cent of winning this election. We are in charge of 22 states of the federation. We have the majority in the national and Houses of Assembly – they are not going to betray him.

“Even the South East that has never been our (APC) stronghold, on the day of the elections, we are going there to protect our mandate.”

Okechukwu argued that aside the growing popularity of the APC flag bearer, all political appointees of the present administration who were party members would equally ensure his victory at the polls.
